What I've got here is the Revit sample project file, and you can see the name of it at the top of the screen there, and I've just copied the standard Autodesk Revit basic sample project from Revit 2014. You cannot go back to an older version, so just be aware of that. Be aware though that when you open up a Revit 2014 file in, say, Revit 2016, you will get a little upgrade message, and when it's upgraded and you've saved it, it becomes a Revit 2016 file. What this means is all of your Revit files that you're using for this course can be viewed in Revit 2014, Revit 2015, Revit 2016, and Revit 2017. It will not let me look at a newer project in an older version of the software, so all of the project files that you can download from your exercise files location are Revit 2014 files. If I open up a Revit project in Revit 2015 and I save it, I then cannot look at that project in Revit 2014. Now the reason we've done this is purely because Revit is not backwards version compatible. So what we've done is we've saved all of the Revit project files for the Revit architecture professional certification prep course as Revit 2014 project files. However, we need to address that when you're taking this course because it may be that you're all using different versions of Revit, and I'm sure that you are. This all happened when Certiport took over the professional examinations in February 2016, so all of your Revit examinations both certified professional and certified user are now non version specific. Working files are included, allowing you to follow along with the author throughout the lessons.- Now we all know that the new Revit architecture professional certification exam is non version specific.
